Organic Tick Repellent -Tick-No-Stick - DEET FREE - It works!
TICK NO STICK!
Say NO to DEET — and YES to nature.
With tick bites on the rise and more people ending up in the ER this year, protection matters now more than ever.
At Sweet Harvest Farms, we’ve created a tick repellent that is DEET-free, skin-loving, and thoughtfully formulated for those who want a more natural approach to outdoor protection.
DEET (N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide) is the most common ingredient found in commercial insect repellents. While widely used, studies have raised concerns about absorption through the skin and potential effects with repeated exposure—especially in children.
That’s why we chose a different path.
Our Tick No Stick Repellent is crafted with a blend of nourishing organic ingredients and carefully selected essential oils traditionally known to help deter ticks:
- Geranium (Pelargonium x asperum) — studied for its tick-repelling properties. The leaves secrete essential oils containing active compounds like geraniol and citronellol, which mask human and animal odors, disrupting the tick's ability to detect carbon dioxide and heat emitted by hosts.Scientific studies have demonstrated that geranium essential oil (such as rose geranium oil) can be nearly as effective at repelling ticks as synthetic standards like DEET at certain concentrations
- Lemon Eucalyptus — widely recognized in natural insect deterrent blends. When a mosquito or tick gets too close to treated skin or clothing, the vapors and taste receptors of Lemon Eucalyptus cause immediate sensory confusion. This causes the insects to retreat, stop their feeding behavior, or drop off.
- Lavender Oil- repels ticks primarily through a potent compound called linalool, which interacts with the odor receptors of insects confusing and disorienting them.
- Peppermint Oil-contains active compounds that target octopamine receptors. These are specialized neurotransmitter receptors unique to invertebrates like insects and ticks. The oil interferes with this system, triggering a severe central nervous system breakdown that disrupts the tick's movement and behavior.
- Rosemary Oil — refreshing and supportive botanicals. It also helps repel mosquitos and ticks through such as camphor, limonene, and terpinolene). These elements act on a tick's highly sensitive olfactory system, creating a sensory barrier that deters them from seeking out a host.
- Tea Tree Oil — also helpful against mosquitoes. The pungent odor makes it difficult for mosquitoes or ticks to locate a human host. Research suggests it can provide protection against biting midges.
- Cedarwood essential oil-The compounds in the oil—such as cedrol—block the pheromones ticks rely on to navigate, mate, and behave, leaving them severely disoriented. Components of the oil strip away the waxy, protective layer on a tick’s exoskeleton, causing them to dry out, dehydrate, and perish upon contact.
All suspended in a rich, skin-conditioning base of:
Cocoa Butter • Shea Butter • Beeswax • Vitamin E
This means you’re not just protecting your skin—you’re nourishing it at the same time.
While no natural repellent can guarantee complete protection, this blend is designed to help discourage ticks from making you their next stop.
Pro Tip:
After spending time outdoors, use a lint roller on clothing (changing sheets often). Ticks-especially those that may carry Lyme disease-can be extremely small and easy to miss.
After hiking, taking a walk in or near a wooded area or even after taking your dog to a dog park, have someone look at your scalp, on your back, and don't forget to look in every "nook and cranny" as some ticks are very tiny.
Important:
Keep away from eyes. Avoid use on cats. Reapply after swimming or bathing.
